As a photographer, I know that the perfect image has the power to capture a little slice of the dramatic energy that imbues a live performance, freeze it in time, and convey it to a viewer. As a theater professional with a 20-year career in technical production, I know may way around a dark theater and the unique excitement, and pressure, of a dress rehearsal--not to mention the challenge of shooting under stage light.

My love for photography and my love for theatrical production grew in parallel. At their heart, they have much in common - provoking emotion in an audience by the precise composition of visual elements. The opportunity to bring all of that experience together makes theater and dance photography a particularly gratifying niche.
